FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Symphony Society is rolling out the red carpet for the 2016-17 Season Opening Night on November 11!

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (October 26, 2016) – The Daytona Beach Symphony Society proudly presents the Siberian Virtuosi at Opening Night of their 65th Season, at the Peabody Auditorium (600 Auditorium Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32118), at 7:00 pm, Friday, November 11, 2016.

Founded in 1994, the Russian ensemble of the Siberian Virtuosi celebrates 22 years this season, having given over 1,300 concerts, performing in 14 European and Asian countries. This is their third North American tour, following their successful Carnegie Hall appearance in December 2015.

This extraordinary concert features 11 violinists, each a virtuoso in their own right, with a commanding stage presence, performing without the traditional restrictions of the seated ensemble. The Virtuosi will be joined by piano accompaniment, and special guest Julian Milkis, the renowned clarinetist known as the “only student of Benny Goodman.”

They will perform their own arrangements of vibrant, colorful and mood-filled works from Baroque to Classical and Jazz genres including such memorable pieces as, Summer from the “Four Seasons” by Vivaldi, Mozart’s Rondo, Magic Melodies from Tchaikovsky Ballets, Promenade (Walking the Dog) by Gershwin from the film “Shall We Dance,” and a Benny Goodman favorite, A smo-o-oth one.

Following Opening Night, the 65th Season continues in 2017 with:
